Named after Queen Charlotte’s mother, Duchess Albertine, this homage to the city’s history has debuted with a luxurious 100-seat dining room and marble-clad full-service bar. Working with regional and international designers, Katy Kindred has transformed a contemporary space into a larger-than-life vision of a grand, upscale restaurant. “It’s this beautiful little jewel box in the heart of the city,” she said. “It’s safe to say we felt a responsibility to get it right,”.
With five-time James Beard Award semi-finalist Joe Kindred leading the kitchen with chef-de-cuisine Mark Machanic, Albertine promises to transport the diner whilst keeping them firmly rooted in the South, “We are leaning really heavily into the Mediterranean and how some of the oldest food cultures in the world can sort of speak to and through the American South,” Kindred explains.
